Requirements vary by assay, but comprehensive genomic profiling typically needs an FFPE tissue block or sections with at least 20% tumor content and sufficient DNA input, ideally from a block less than 3 to 4 years old. Adequate tumor cellularity matters more than sample size, since low tumor content is a common reason for test failure.
