A Visit to Remember: Our Leadership Meets World-Renowned CTC Pioneer Prof. Catherine Alix-Panabières in Montpellier

    Building Bridges Across Borders

At 1Cell.ai, we have always believed that the future of precision oncology will be built not just in laboratories, but through the relationships and collaborations we forge with the brightest scientific minds across the world. Our recent visit to Montpellier, France, was a powerful reminder of exactly that.

A Meeting at the Frontier of Liquid Biopsy Science

Our CEO Mohan Uttarwar and Vice President of Scientific Affairs Ajay Pandita travelled from Silicon Valley to the University Hospital of Montpellier to visit the laboratory of Prof. Catherine Alix-Panabières Director of the Human Rare Circulating Cells Laboratory (LCCRH) and one of the most respected pioneers in Circulating Tumor Cell (CTC) research globally. For anyone working in liquid biopsy, a visit to Prof. Alix-Panabières’ lab is nothing short of a landmark moment. Her decades of groundbreaking work on CTCs have laid the scientific foundation that the entire field including our own technology builds upon.

A Shared Vision for the Future of Oncology

The visit brought together two teams united by a shared scientific mission unlocking the full potential of liquid biopsy to transform cancer diagnostics and treatment. Over the course of our time together, we engaged in deep, wide-ranging discussions on Circulating Tumor Cells, ctDNA, and the evolving landscape of liquid biopsy technology. We explored areas of scientific convergence, shared perspectives on where the field is heading, and began laying the groundwork for what we hope will be a long and meaningful research collaboration.

Science in the Heart of the Mediterranean

What made this visit particularly special was the warmth and generosity with which Prof. Alix-Panabières and her team welcomed us. Beyond the science, we had the opportunity to experience the beautiful city of Montpellier and its stunning Mediterranean surroundings- a setting that, as Prof. Alix-Panabières herself noted, is the ideal environment to foster science and build meaningful connections.

A Reflection of Our Global Ambition

For us at 1Cell.ai, this visit reflects something we are deeply committed to building a global network of world-class scientific partners who share our mission to democratise precision oncology. The credibility and depth of our science is only as strong as the relationships and collaborations we invest in, and visits like this one are a testament to the direction we are heading.

We are grateful to Prof. Catherine Alix-Panabières and her team at the LCCRH for an inspiring and memorable exchange. We look forward to continuing this conversation and to the exciting possibilities that lie ahead as our collaboration grows.

Follow our journey as we continue to build partnerships with leading scientists and institutions around the world.
